That is NOT way oil, and is designed for an entirely different 
application.  Engine oils are for hydrodynamic bearings, where 
the spinning journal provides the shearing force that floats it.

The ways of a machine tool move MUCH too slowly to produce this 
force, so they depend on an intricate balance of viscosity and 
surface area.  All the machine tool dealers carry some brand of 
way oil in 1 Gal. bottles.  The oil for a Bridgeport should be 
ISO VG (viscosity grade) 68, which is approximately SAE 20. 
but, if you FEEL the way oil, you will immediately see there is 
something different, it is a LOT "stickier" that engine oils, 
and will remind you of a gear oil.  That is what keeps it in 
place on the ways, where the SAE 20 will film off and end up on 
the floor overnight, the way oil will take a MONTH to get there.
