Congratulations Sebastian, (Condolences to those near you ;) I am not sure grease is a good idea, unless the manufacturer calls for it. I had grease on my Bridgeport ways and screws and the friction was reduced when I took it apart, cleaned it all off and replaced it with Vactra 2: http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT?PMPXNO=1965951&PMT4NO=36259674 http://www.mobil.com/Canada-English/Lubes/PDS/IOCAENINDMOMobil_Vactra_Numbered.asp (not intended as a plug, just an example) Good luck. I am looking forward to seeing your project progress. -- Kirk Wallace (California, USA http://www.wallacecompany.com/machine_shop/ Hardinge HNC lathe, Bridgeport mill conversion, doing XY now, Zubal lathe conversion pending) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
