If you for some reason one kills emc2 at any extreme in travel, the next time it comes up you find you are trapped on one side by a hard limit, and the other by a soft limit. You can't move the table. If it were not for the fact that I had a small negative value beyond home, I'd have not been able to move the table at all without manually moving the lead screw by hand.
