Yup, I did that once.  Luckily, I had removed the tool from the boring 
head, so it was a big flat surface.
But, it pinched several fingers between the boring head and the top of 
the vise.  I sat there for a moment, trying to decide if the machine or 
software had malfunctioned, and I should E-stop and wind the quill up by 
hand, or just hit the right button this time.  I decided it was human 
error, carefully hit the "Page Up" button and got my hand out of there.  
Those fingers were sore for a few days.
