Up to this point (been lurking more than a year) I have had trouble
navigating the website. Seeing the documentation link below I failed to see
the HTML selection. Now that I see it, its much more helpfull. Perhaps a
suggestion to make the link to the HTML page more visible.

Previously, I had my machine running a version preceding the debut of
Stepconf. I can read my way through the ini and hal files keeping the
integrator's manual up.

Time and a z axis sleep issue with my Hobbycnc board kept me from doing much
cutting. Since Kim's posts on the Hobbycnc issues and workarounds, I now
have a modified board that does not lose steps on G0's (particularly the Z).

Getting back to this I wanted to try out the Stepconf and hopefully tune
this machine up properly for once.

With this resetting of my INI files, I redid my latency tests and found that
I have a max jitter of 38500ns. According to that manual It recommended
limiting to half and full step - therefore my reaosning to go full step for
now.

I will consult the stepconf manual for the correct number to enter for full
step.

Thanks for this, I ran quite a few trials of the stepconf routine and
constantly switching these off was a pain. In addition, the Hobby CNC board
has the Step and Direction pins switched with the default settings so I was
basiucally swapping every pin anyway.

Again thanks for your help. I am hoping to get this beast running over the
coming week inbetween a home boiler install and a basement floor pour. So
hopefully it will happen.
