I beleive a component for comparing that the requested speed and the actual
speed are with in a selectable tolerance was made. You could also build your 
own 
component to do something similar.

Usually takes someone who wants the feature bad enough to program it.
or add it to feature request and wait till the feature is thought to have
wide enough  appeal.
for instance when my lathe is fininshed I want a mirror feature so I 
can program the rear turret the same as the front turret- I will probably
have to do that myself (I am sure I will need advice of course) as not
alot of people have twin turrets...
