This is the correct setup for using the index pulse on encoder 0 to home axis 0 (X). Well you need a "net" in front but I'm sure you have that. If you also have a home switch, it will be a gpio.NNN.in or in_not and you hook this to axis.0.home-sw-in. That's the entire setup you need for switch+index homing.
