You can always run a "cvs diff -u", that will print exactly what is 
different between your local copy and the repository.

Another thought is to use "cvs up -d date" to update a certain version of 
the code (one day earlier than when the problem started).

When you know around what timeframe the changes happened, we can see if 
there was any commit around the code where this could happen.
