Cute, but either the geometry won't work, or you need a very clever relationship between the pitch and depth of the worm thread. Not impossible with a CNC mill-drill, though. I am working on my fourth-axis at the moment. Have you considered a toothed-belt actuator for either the knee or the spindle?
