As other posts have indicated, there may be issues with using this type
of controller as an axis controller. My guess is that this drive would
be fine as a spindle controller, but make up a test rig and see what
happens. If this controller doesn't have a transformer, but runs from
the mains directly, like this one:

be aware that the input signal is relative to the input "ground", which
in this case floats relative to mains ground. So, if you set a voltmeter
to AC volts, you will see a high voltage between the speed input and the
metal frame of your PC or other mains grounded device. I measured about
50 VAC on mine (check DC while you are at it). This means that you need
to keep the floating input, floating and isolated, and don't touch the
input or you are likely to get a shock.

Until you have the manuals and understand how the drive works, be
careful, don't just hook something up to see what happens, have fun and
let us know what you find out.
