I have found these to be convenient. http://www.optekinc.com/datasheets/OPB702.PDF Because they are focussed-beam sensors there is no need for the flag to be especially far from the surface. For example, this is my lathe longitudinal limit switch which has been 100% reliable and repeatable to .05mm so far. http://www.bodgesoc.org/limit.jpg I use the same thing for my spindle encoder, and the target is just inkjet printed on paper and wrapped round the spindle. The signal is good, but I seem to have messed up the electronics and have cross-talk between channels, which needs sorting out. -- atp ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Crystal Reports - New Free Runtime and 30 Day Trial Check out the new simplified licensing option that enables unlimited royalty-free distribution of the report engine for externally facing server and web deployment. http://p.sf.net/sfu/businessobjects _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
