Running this config on git master (14b8248a) gives me
http://timeguy.com/cradek-files/emc/14b8248.png which looks fine.  The
accel is too low to track the short exit move well, but it doesn't
show the bad oscillation behavior.

If I extend the 45 degree exit move so it's .2 instead of .1, you can
see it falls behind a bit during the transition but then catches back

I don't get this, and looking at the code I don't see how it can
skip the sync-accel.

What code exactly are you running?  Have you tried a fresh build of
git master?  I have changed it recently (be0dad0c).
