An MSI file is a "MicroSoft Installer" file, similar to a .deb file.  
You need the MS setup/install tools.  I think they can be installed 
using winetricks, but I'm not sure of the details.  (If you're not 
familiar with it, winetricks is a shell script that will download and 
install all sorts of useful goodies for you)
