I just bought a dozen of these from Digikey recently.  They had hundreds 
or thousands in stock.  They mailed them to me first class - so that was 
very cheap shipping.

Same idea I think.  I used one to convert a RS422 quad encoder to TTL 
compatible signals for interface to a PC LPT port.

Add a decoupling cap to go across the +5V to Ground and it works great.
