Hi - yep, this is a real 3d scanner - here's some work we did with it
a few months ago

there's a tool in blender to turn a point cloud in to a mesh, and that
can be exported in to .stl .obj .3ds .dxf etc....

i'm camping out on the IRC channel until i get my first cnc project up
- it's a small sherline 5400 3 axis... wish me luck ya'll :)
