I have been looking at
http://www.tribology-abc.com/calculators/metric-iso.htm
And see plenty of scope for confusion, but I am not sure that the
diagram is actually right. It seems to indicate that the nominal
diameter is to the centre of the crest-rounding, so the actual OD is
bigger than the nominal size, whereas every bolt I have ever measured
is less than the nominal diameter.
