1) I hadn't done that, it runs from its own console. Thanks for the heads up though. Also, it isn't found by a sudo -i root, nor by the login user, gene. Is this something I need to download? 2) And where the heck did the irc client go?, it doesn't appear to be in the menu's. 3) Some of these q's belong on the list, so I'll go back and post about 3 more cuz the radeon driver is killing me with its latency's in the 300,000ns range, and a 1.5+ second lag at startup of emc. And no /etc/X11/xorg.conf file to be found. From dmesg at emc startup: [88131.165907] RTAPI: ERROR: Unexpected realtime delay on task 1 [88131.165912] This Message will only display once per session. [88131.165914] Run the Latency Test and resolve before continuing. [88134.596487] 4859: ERROR: Unexpected realtime delay: check dmesg for details. [88134.596497] [88134.596498] In recent history there were [88134.596500] 1281322, 1370277, 1377098, 1457897, and 1387113 [88134.596502] elapsed clocks between calls to the motion controller. [88134.596507] This time, there were 1538011 which is so anomalously [88134.596509] large that it probably signifies a problem with your [88134.596511] realtime configuration. Sigh. Got to get it to use the vesa driver for starters. Help! Thanks guys, all of you. -- Cheers, Gene "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
