  If you do not have a circuit breaker on the wiring to the servo motor you
should put one in. At least on the axis that is burning the motor. You would
eliminate the burned motors and still be alerted to the motor heating
problem as the circuit breaker would trip.
  This should allow you to troubleshoot the problem a lot better.
