I spent three solid days playing around to get it working, had given up and was searching ebay for a newer USB model. Purely by accident I found it was working! On startup from power on, touch doesn't work, display is fine. BUT, if I log in, then log out again and then touch the screen - it works? I can then log into Ubuntu and it will work all day without any problem. Just doesn't work from a cold power on. Why - I don't know.
