No, it mentions "parport" 3 times in dmesg output. Here are the lines starting from first instance of mentioning parport to the last time: [ 8.895228] parport_pc 00:09: reported by Plug and Play ACPI [ 8.895298] parport0: PC-style at 0x378, irq 7 [PCSPP] [ 8.910144] [drm] Initialized drm 1.1.0 20060810 [ 8.922196] Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... [ 8.948196] ppdev: user-space parallel port driver [ 8.949657] scsi2 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices [ 8.963164] usbcore: registered new interface driver usb-storage [ 8.963174] USB Mass Storage support registered. [ 8.963683] usb-storage: device found at 2 [ 8.963690] usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning [ 8.979773] lp0: using parport0 (interrupt-driven). What draws my attention is that lp0 is using parport0. Should it be like that or is this the cause of problem that parport is used by something else?
