More to the point, if the motor has an encoder you can drive it either
sinusoidally or trapezoidally as you wish (Using EMC2. that is. It is
not generally true)
In fact, here is a demonstration (using one of those little NEMA 23
RapidSyn motors, of which there are two on eBay at the moment)
