I also have plans to retrofit an old CNC mill with DC motors, and your DC
amplifiers might come handy. I'll check if 20A 120V is enough for those
motors.

The less expensive - the better. This is rather DIY than industrial grade
plasma. Up to $500 per axis would be nice. We also consider steppers, but
servos looks preferable.
