That's because the white button is wired from the factory as Normally 
CLOSED!
So, when you push it, it disconnects the wiper from the axis selector 
knob.  BUT,
the button is a SPDT switch, so you can move the wire inside to make it 
a NO contact.
Otherwise, you could rig a memory element to the HAL code so that it 
remembers the
last axis it saw, but only activates the jog function when there is no 
axis contact selected.
Then it would work with the stock wiring of the pendant.  I chose to 
move the wire
inside.
