I have similar 2.2KW VFD. It works yet, what else can I say. Not all perfect, but cheap. There's a modbus control option, but it has its own specific Modbus =) There's a component to control it http://www.cnczone.com/forums/diy-cnc_router_table_machines/91847-huanyang_vfd_rs485_modbus.html. I could not make it work with Modbus (though, I have not tried much).
