Uugh, that's embarrassing. I got the part number from Viesturs' e-mail reply, just pasted it in and didn't see the flaw. If this is really a BD139, the circuit won't work. Thanks Roland. I guess I shouldn't apply for any detective jobs. I suppose the BD139 could be made to work, but I would need to build the circuit to say anything with confidence. See attached.
