Why it overwrote it with a blank file is a mystery to me, The code specifically checks to see if the file exists. What options (pyvcp I bet) did you select? If we can figure out the sequence we can fix that bug. That warning is not printed on the file because it is not true. The file 'could be' overwritten if you select a pyvcp or classicladder option. But stepconf should ask you if this is ok - if you ignore the warning - not much we can do to fix that :) The reason this is so complicated is actually AXIS's fault but that another story. As for using GIT to keep track of files - yes that would work great but, what new user is going to learn about git just to configure the machine?
