I can't say about your installation but in mine, a Flash Player was not 
installed by default. Try 
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html or 
http://www.codegeek.net/flash-version.php to see what Flash Player, if 
any, you have installed.

There are several choices for flash players. I chose to go with the 
Adobe Flash Player. Go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ and click on 
the box "Get Adobe Flash Player." Follow instructions (I chose the "APT 
for Ubuntu 10.04+" option and then the apturl option to launch). When 
you are done, try one of the test pages again.

Could it be that you are seeing the Adobe Shockwave Flash plugin listed? 
That's something else as you can tell by looking at the MIME types to 
which it responds.
