Would you believe there is still an image orthicon camera tube, a 4.5" face adorning a shelf in the shop at WDTV? That was the imaging device in use when Howdy Doody was on the air. Bits and pieces of history, that. We also have an old Arri-Flex 16mm news camera ensconced in a glass display case in the receptionists area. When we moved off the mountaintop to a studio in 1984, about 2 weeks before I walked in the door to be the new Chief, one of the things they moved was an automatic film processor. It gradually faded from use as the u-matic recorders were taking over that job by then.
