There are some android xbmc versions which "should" work with hardware accelerated video decoding. But it seems not to be ready for the masses. So if you want just an little arm box for video output with hardware full-hd support i would suggest you buy a rasperry-pi modell A (25$) or B (35$), depending on the need for ethernet support. For these exist multiple xbmc versions (openelec, raspbmc, ...) with hardware accelerated video output. I own one myself and use it as standalone media player. Newer gopro cameras use h264 encoded video format which is supported by the rpi gpu.
