Greetings all; Back on the 2.5.2 branch for all machines now, and I have the lathe now handling a G33.1 move as if the spindle was a servo, sort of. A reversal of direction now synthesizes a full stop before the reversal is responded to. Slow, but it works.
Two more things I want to do: 1. If I can find a spare pin on the parport, I want to auto-switch the braking resistors via a relay so that a much lower R is used for stopping from the lower speeds, a resistor safe for 1500 (spindle rpms) isn't very effective at 300 rpms. 2. Set up a choice of homing sequences, one for a normal, cuts on the far face turning tool, and one that inverts the X homing sequence for calibrating a boring bar. And establishes the two different sets of HOME_OFFSET because a different set of contact faces on the gauge are used. It occurs to me that some sort of dual home buttons might be generated, where clicking on one executes a filename associated with that button in order to do the actual homing moves for a normal turning tool. Clicking on the other would run a different file, with reversed moves for X, and different HOME_OFFSETS for both because that uses a different set of contacts on the gauge. As I am setup now, I have to stop LCNC, and relaunch it with a different .ini file just to do a boring job, a wee bit unhandy. An added advantage would be that this homing method would allow fine tuning the HOME_OFFSET's by editing the loadable file, many times faster than a complete shutdown, edit the ini file & restarting LCNC. Is this do-able now? If not, perhaps it could be discussed while everybody is in Wichita? Thanks. Cheers, Gene -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
