That isn't necessary an impossible problem. If the ratio is exactly 2:1
then you just need a way to only respond to every second index.
If you are using the software encoder counter then a HAL intervention
between the IO pin and the index pin will do what is required.
If you are using one of the hardware encoders then a separate index sensor
on the spindle might be an option (and ignore the encoder index)
