Nope, not a plain bearing lathe. Dagnabit, I want to find more of them
to find out if they had a P after the serial number like mine, which is
1031P, the 30th lathe off the Logan production line.

In the last picture of the back side of the headstock you can see the
bearing retainer ring behind the chuck.

Logan serial number/year guide. http://www.lathe.com/ser-no.htm

Coincidentally, I just bought one like that yesterday, a 04TLC-700A made
in 1942. Same legs, same bench type countershaft with the cast iron
support bracket under the chip tray instead of the "peg leg" support.

If you get that and put ELS on it, I'm interested in the change gears
for my plain bearing Monkey Ward. The "new" one has the gear set, and
power feeds, which the plan bearing one doesn't.

The power feed on these is very simple and does *not* have a clutch so
there's nothing to slip if you crash the chuck.

If you plan on stripping and repainting it, I've re-created the artwork
for the POWR-KRAFT logo you can see the remains of on the front of the
headstock.

Here's some pics of mine.
