Gene - saddle looks more like the one on a plain saddle 9" Logan.

As for spindle bearings they seem to be factory pre-loaded sealed units.
That would worry me on such an old lathe - a long way to travel to find
the headstock bearings are shot and not adjustable or easily
replaceable!

Even for an intended CNC conversion wouldn't buy any machine without
personally inspecting it first and weighing up what would have to be
replaced and what condition the ways are in.
