Does that sound like reasonable behavior? Probably would be fine. There is always a risk that the speed the operator WANTS is not the speed that the spindle will come up at by default. But, the operator should CHECK that there won't be any danger when he starts the spindle, so it is up to him to be cautious. I don't do things this way that often, but sometimes I do, and it is annoying to have to recall the last M03 Sxxxx MDI and execute it, instead of just pushing a button. I **THINK** that my older 2.6.x system may not start the spindle if I give an M03 without an Sxxxx word. I seem to recall this was a syntax error from the interpreter, but that might have been a while ago, and I have not tried it lately.
