Precisely why I do not use gmail even though I have two accounts there,
John. One I got when they just started up, and the second when my ISP,
Shentel, decided running a mail server was something gmail could do
cheaper than they could. To gmail, the echoed message is a duplicate, so
its deleted. And as far as gmail is concerned, it is not even open for
discussion, I tried mightily to get them to remove that filter rule.
Epic failure. They simply do not care about how it works for a mailing
list passthru.

So the mail server I use, at the tv station I was CE at from 1984 to
2002, a qmail I helped setup all those years ago. Very transparent,
doesn't do any of that stuff and has a poor spam filter to boot. But I
have a lifetime accouint there and I'll put up with the spam that gets
thru my own filters just to see this message come back to me, including
all my typu's & miss-spellings. :)

Most ISP's supply both a pop3 and a web mail service, even if they farm
it out. Has that been investigated?

Cheers, Gene Heskett
