I did Andy, and it runs but without the extra stuff. But I am having a huge problem with amanda, which works great on the lathe's box, but I downloaded a fresh copy of the install dvd for this and I am about to fire up, since I have nfs shares, a root session of mc and make the new install match whats on the lathe. Amanda related stuff is either missing or been moved in wholesale quantities. And the repos are supplying an older version of amanda than is installed on lathe, with no trace of the install showing up in /var/cache/apt/archives. So apparently that install, which works, didn't come from a .deb, and I'll be dipped if I can recall how I did that a couple months back when the crashing of the lathes box made me do a new install in a 2Tb drive, smallest I could find locally. Its driving me crazy, and its not that long a drive... Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
