Inventor was a total re-write as Original AutoCAD really had grown and grown into quite a strange mess of GUI and command line. There were three ways to do everything, and those ways might give slightly different results. I don't know if it is still like that, I haven't looked for years. But, Autodesk Inventor isn't an answer to the question originally asked. It seems that Webersys might be.
