re: Mach3/4 and LinuxCNC; 1) Andy's right - supporting hordes of users who come to an open source project is a problem (been on the receiving end of *that* one...)
2) Andy's also right - LinuxCNC is not in competition. I'd use Mach3/4 if LinuxCNC did not do what it was asked to do, but, LinuxCNC just works. 3) Not everybody will choose your option - after all, we have many cars/trucks/planes/etc manufactured because each person (thankfully) chooses their own requirements. I appreciate Ron Ginger's comments - having met him, he's a down to earth, bright individual, who bears listening to.
