Greetings everybody; This Sheldon lathe came with a boring bar, .750" by about 8" long. One end is broached straight thru for a small 1/4" tool, while the other is broached at an angle. I am thinking the angled end would allow me to cut threads about 1/2" closer to the bottom of a hole. But to do that, I'd need to know this angle so it could be used in sharpening the tool properly.
Is there a std angle for this broached at an angle end of a boring bar? If so, what is the degree of that angle?
