Hello John. Indeed I tried to measure some Heindenhain encoders that I just bought at a really good price on ebay just to see if they worked properly. Everything works ok, but I couldn't measure the index and that's why I was worried. Then I tried to see if the encoders I had already installed on my machine (from another brand) were working ok, and the only way to see that was to set the index pulse to home the machine. Apparently the one I tested is working but I can't hook the ones that I bought yet because I need to order some boards to try them. As simple as it is the concept of the index pulse, since I've never used it, it was giving me some head ache because it's imperative for the Mazak conversion to work with index for the homing sequence. -- *Leonardo Marsaglia*. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What NetFlow Analyzer can do for you?
