Out of curiosity, are you building from source or is there a package repo for LinuxCNC on the RPi? I have someone interested in using a RPi+Mesa instead of a BBB for a small machine control. We're not actively building Machinekit packages for Raspbian, and I noticed the LCNC hostmot2 driver has a RPi SPI driver. Is that what you're using?
