Here is what I get from an attempted execution of the axis-7i90.ini the 
pi runs well:

Also, hostmot2 is not available in the repo's used. Might have to build 
that too?

looking through hm2_rpspi.c, it looks to be made specific to the pi's 
gpio SoC chip. I am wondering if the checks for pi only silicon can be 
defeated long enough to do some debugging since the rockchip claims 
compatibility with the pi stuff.  Or is this something to ask Bertho 
Stultans about? I can supply the bootup dmesg to anyone interested if 
that would help ID the gpio.
