I guess this is later... The replacement computer arrived around 18:00 this evening. After feeding us, I undertook to move the HD to the much bigger Optiplex 745. That thing is a monster, both size and weight compared to a Dimension 745. Didn't leave it running long, the psu fan is froze up. Got that done, hooked it up and fixed the network (damned udev) and then ran the mills config. Exact same problem. That leaves me with a stack of bad 5i25's, or a config problem, but I have spent my time the last 3 days disabling one or more functions at a time until I was clear down to nothing but the 3 axises. w/o effecting the problem. When an axis has once been moved, it never stops, but hunts around where it stopped until I quit LCNC and start it again. Once an axis has been moved, all axises are being sent random noise on the step lines, and much higher rep rate noise on the dir lines. You can see the motion on the axises stepgen-fb lines, and if you wait long enough it will throw a following error. I can touch the z coupling, and if the cables are plugged in, its downright nervous. So, I call John or Peter in the morning and see if these can be repaired, and if not, order 2 more so I have a spare. Again. Thats all folks!
