I'm within around 10 thou of my machines y limits, and finally had to clamp the chuck, then knock it about 50 thou toward the post before I got rid of all the run anyway requesters. Thank you Jon, but I just now put the finishing touches on a routine that finds the chucks centerhole, then probes for and logs the 6 mounting boltholes in the back of this chuck. I'll use a bit of this code to locate the backplate centerhole, then the data logged by this, to drill/enlarge the boltholes in this backplate just enough bigger that I can skid it around to as close to zero run-out as I can get it. I've now faced the surface of the backplate with a grinder, removing perhaps another thou, and its now a clean surface. And I have a feeler blade or two I can sacrifice for shims to correct the run-out 6" out. Theres always old faithfull Reynolds Wrap for shim stock too. :) But its about din-din time, if I can get her to eat. Wasn't able to wake her last night, so she ate good this morning and again at noon. Thank you Jon, I do appreciate it. For finding one hole, it looks great!
