Greetings all; I did finally get that done and put back together. And I believe, for what may be a 40+ yo Bison, its doing decent.
With an extruded alu round bar chucked fairly tightly, I have it running out about .0017 just out of the jaws. But wear in the scroll seat and in the sliders the jaws move in, lets me change it from half a thou to 7 or 8 thou when 5.75" from the jaws with just a light tap. So there is some wear. But its 15 thou closer than it was when I started this particular fixup. It was lots of "fun" getting it located on the mills table as I had to first get it centered between the red Y limit lines. Then rotate both the backing plate and the co-ord code to get maximum clearance just to make room for an 8mm mill to wiggle enough to make the holes around 10.8mm. So with a decent center. it should do ok. Thanks. -- Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
