The existing spring has lasted thru 4 or 5 barrels at around 4k shots a 
barrel. Its also approaching 100 yo. Its an Eddystone made P-17. And it 
will pass on to one of my boys in another 2-3 years. By then I hope to 
have a magazine that feeds well. With the shade tree stuff in the 
magazine well now, its almost a single shot.
