Sort of, but not reliably. To read the first part of the serial data
containing the abs encoder positions was a real problem. I tried to read the
data in a hal-component, but it was not relaible. I got side-tracked but
hope to get a better solution someday. I suppose there are better ways to do
it .

I have been considering adding this capability to a variant of the normal
HostMot2 quadrature encoder. Basically adding a RX UART with a mode bit
thats cleared on recieving the EOM character (CR?) that switches from UART
to incremental mode. The mode bit would be set via a hal pin.
