I have a pretty good experience with a few HP 7900 SFF, Core 2 Duo. IIRC it has latency up to 40-50K which is great for a MESA card. I think one can be purchased for $50 easily with RAM and HDD. Just don't buy 7800, they have another chipset and worse latency.
