Thanks Martin. I did get a surprise, and of coarse its its the
background story of my life, I always buy the model thats being
replaced. And while I'm not going to throw a lot more money at it, the
ender 3 v2, is now in the pipeline.

I watched someone building it, and it has several newer features I like,
but that build also gave be some ideas on readjusting mine.

And I think I did hit a lick. I restarted a big sprocket 4 times today,
after switching the starter code to have it build a raft, which at the
diameter its working at, is nearly a 2 hour job all by itself.

Anyway after readjusting everything, I started the job over everytime it
drew a long line and ran out of plastic, so I stopped it, cleaned the
mag pad, added 5.00 to the extruder feed, and gave it another go. After
4 restarts it laid down the first two layers of a raft, with no missing
lines and only one little bump, all while running at 20 lb paper
clearance, so the lines it was laying down were about 50% coverage, but
no missing gaps because it ran out of PLA. Its still doing the 4th
layer, at 100% coverage even though the temps went down 10C to 215 for
the nozzle, and 65C for the bed. It will run at those temps forthe next
11 hours. And we will see what sort of a sprocket we get for a 180
toothx8mm wide supposedly with GT-2_3mm teeth. Supposedly making a drive
for a Meade DS-10 I've had for 20+ years. If that works, I'll have to
build a shed for it. What I've found on the web seems to say that black
PLA needs more heat for normal stuff and even more for starter adhesion.

So after 3 weeks of screwing with this, I might be getting somewhere!
Finally. Maybe...

Cheers & stay safe and well Martin, Gene Heskett
