Have you tried simply asking it to reset your password? It will send it to the email address you are trying to use.
When I first started playing with the 3D printer I registered with various sites providing models and promptly forgot that I had. The problem *I* find with github is that it is relied on too much by many projects and quite often I find myself there and automatically logged in as I have got the password saved :(
